16” X 16” oil on a 1.5” cradled wood panel with natural edges
I created this piece when I was feeling very frustrated about a few things in my life, and I think the painting actually helped me work through those frustrations. The lower section is made from thin, transparent layers of alternating cool and warm colors, finally becoming a rich mottled burgundy red releasing dappled yellow light. I wrote a short “ekphrastic poem” to accompany it.
