Hidden Face

$0.00
sold out

7 X 7 oil pastel on paper
This is a very unusual and special piece because of the face hidden within it; a face I did not put there. It looks almost like a photograph and I noticed it only when I photographed the piece for the first time - it simply appeared. It’s in the upper left of the painting and while it can be tricky to see, once you do, you can’t unsee it. My best guess is the image was somehow transferred in the making of the paper which is BFK Rives. I have no other explanation, and I don’t recognize the face. Because I find this so weird and fascinating, I’m sharing it here, but for now, this piece is not for sale.
